About our Consultant
Our consultancy unit is headed by Dr. Bhimsen Abacousnac who has helped several organisations through his expertise and experience to make a difference to their working practices, especially through training, implementing quality management systems and internal audit.
He has worked in various capacities in several private and public sector organisations; some of his notable stints were as Assistant Technical Manager at Mauritius Standards Bureau, Quality Consultant at the Mauritius Revenue Authority, Corporate Quality Executive with the Mauritius Ports Authority, and Chief Operations Officer at MyBiz, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Agency.
He is also a Senior Lecturer working part-time at the University of Technology, University of Mauritius, and Open University of Mauritius, lecturing MBA students in Operations Management, Quality Management and Marketing.
Dr Abacousnac’s thesis for his doctoral programme was titled “Impact of Internal Marketing on Service Quality in the Public Healthcare Sector.” Subsequently, he was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy in 2007 from the Leeds Metropolitan University, UK.
He has successfully followed the following Management courses:
- Lead Auditor course in Quality Management System (ISO 9001) from the British Standards Institution
- Lead Auditor course in Information Security Management System (ISO 27001) from PSB (Singapore)
- Lead Auditor course in Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) from Nigel Bauer (UK)
- Is registered as a Quality Management System Lead Auditor with the International Registrar of Certificated Auditors ( IRCA )/Chartered Quality Institute (CQI)
On the international front we have provided training to staff from the Botswana Water Utilities Corporation to enable them to implement ISO 9001:2015.
